In Kaiwens case I don't think he got that much of a screen time at all except of ep1 of c planet and even there his performance (the vocally good part in my opinion was cut in the ep itself). Other than that they don't really show him almost at all unless they have to cuz he's performing or theres drama and a reaction to the drama. Kinda the same happened to Wang Zihao back in bp1 mnet was literally hiding him as well as they can. Idk I guess it'll be more clear as the episodes gonna go. The editing is killing me

2025-08-06 17:25:04 +0000 UTCThankfully I haven't been seeing basically any discourse about the show recently, but tbh I'm not surprised about people complaining about the top 8 and especially Liyu. But of course it's sad that people are disliking him simply for being popular... I hope that he isn't seeing any of that. I definitely have hope of him improving throughout the show as well, since his skills have been pretty solid since ep 1 (definitely more solid than Daeul lol). Anxin as the maknae feels wrong jhfkdjsh, maybe that's why we need one of the children in the group. Yi Chen last place is insane, yeah. At least it gave him a storyline and screentime though, I'm sure that he's gotten a lot more people voting for him thanks to that. Personally I'm glad that they didn't do the individual member introductions before performances, cause those always gave me so much secondhand embarrassment haha although they were good for seeing their personalities a bit, so you win some you lose some I guess. Totally get not being too interested in Minjae. I also saw a theory recently that he might've been a bit asshole-ish as a leader because he wants to be eliminated... don't know how much I believe that, but it's an interesting theory for sure. As much as I loved Xinlong and Yunseo, it would've been great to see more of the other's as well for sure. Maybe that's another reason why I didn't really connect with that performance, besides those two's parts. Yunseo is for sure the youngest seeming of the children. Total baby face and baby voice lol, definitely get how that would put a lot of people off voting for him. Which is probably a good thing actually, but oh well. Not gonna start this conversation again lol. Next episode could totally change top 8s more. And thanks for voting for Jiang Fan haha I'm praying that he gets enough attention to not be eliminated. I did see that they posted all the fancams already... made me think that the episode was out already for a sec. Interesting tactic to make the voting slightly more fair given the time frame, but idk how much of a difference it will actually make. I'm definitely not watching them before the episode so... Better way to fix the unfairness of the voting schedule would just be to change the voting schedule! What a crazy idea am I right?! :D

It's definitely interesting how they showed the whole interim ranking because I checked and in BP they only showed a couple of the rankings. Also, I see so many people complain about the top 8 rn and I kinda get where they are coming from, but it's a bit much. Liyu seems to be the only one though that is targeted directly. I know that most people are just mad at everyone that voted for him and not him directly but still, some people do seem to dislike him just for that reason. I kinda feel sorry for him, I doubt that he wanted or expected to be in the top 8. And even tho I do really like him, I also think that he does not seem ready yet, just also from what we have seen in this episode. But we also have not seen his performance yet and maybe he will improve greatly over the course of the show, who knows? I do can see his story being similar to Daeul's but he could also come very far, not sure at all yet. Also there are definitely some other trainees that are younger then Anxin that have a high chance, but there is a possibility that he might debut as the maknae and I think that is really interesting. I'm also not sure if I like the concept of the 1 vs 1 Class Battle but I don't think I hate it. I guess we will see in the next episode how much it made sense. I did also think that it would be the same classes against each other but it would not have really made sense with the amount of people ig and yeah the classes themselves also just did not make any sense, so it does not really matter. But to still talk about how the ranking made no sense: How did Yi Chen get last place, huh? Like how low did the mentors rank him? Was it like a set amount of points per class placement, or did everyone from the same class get different points from them? Yi Chen definitely was someone that got at least a decent amount of likes and views on his Hola Solar fancam. But oh well, I guess it does not really matter anymore. Now to the performances: Not sure if they just did not show it, but it's kinda sad that we did not get the individual introductions for all the trainees when they are on stage like in BP. SKZ - S-Class (1-stars): Minjae definitely was really really good, just not really interested in him. He did kinda give me the ick when he decided on all the parts alone, but yeah, I guess it's not that deep. Like he was allowed to do it, but i do think that at least incorporating the others into it a bit more would have been better. He should have definitely switched the main vocal tho but I get why he didn't, like Hanwen really seemed to want it and he obviously did not know the outcome. I think that Hanwen did his best tho. Dawit and Mingchieh did pretty good but we also did not really see them too much. Youngjun and Hyunseo did really really good, both are very much in danger of being eliminated tho i think. Kaiwen did also really good, I do think at at some parts he kinda rushed a little with the rap? But he does seem to have lots of potential in being a rapper and also potential to stay in my top 8, I really like to see him perform. Changxu did also pretty good, but I do agree that at some parts his facial expressions could be a bit better. I think he also just have a resting face where he kinda looks annoyed all the time haha. SKZ - S-Class (3-stars): Yeah I still am not a fan of Junmin's style haha. He did really really good tho. Inhu and Jiahao did pretty good too, but I also did not notice them too much. Sad that they showed so little of Jiahao, would have loved to see more of his personality. Gyehyeon did really well, you definitely can see his experience. Seowon was also kinda erased out of this team but he also did really good. Donggyu also did really well, he did not blow me away but he certainly has the potential to stay in my top 8. We sadly also did not really see too much of him tho. You absolutely could see how experienced Kangmin is, he did really well. But tbh at some points his vocals were a bit, idk weird? Maybe I just thought that his tone did not fit for the song idk. The performance did not really change anything for me tho, still love him very much. TWS -Plot Twist (3-stars): First of all, Yunseo and Xinlong were so adorable! I'm sure that Xinlong definitely sees his younger self in Yunseo. It was kinda sad though, that their storyline was kinda the only thing we saw from this team. Xinlong did really well, even if he did not get many lines at all. It is kinda criminal how a part can only be 4 seconds. Yunseo did really good, he is so cute. My only “problem” with him is tho, that he is like the only one from the really young ones, where I can see that he is so young. Like, for example, with Taejo I don't really have this “problem”. Taejo also did really good tho but I feel like we also did not really see too much from him too. Huijun, Boheng and Zhihan did really really well, just not really personally interested in them. Bowen did show his potential really well in this performance, looking forward to seeing more of him now. I feel the same way as you when it comes to Hyunjun. He did really well, tho. But I also feel like he has a pretty distinguish style, maybe not as prominent as some other but it's definitely there. My top 8 did actually not change at all after this episode lmao. Well ig in combination with the next ep it will change things but not rn. Kangmin might leave my top 8 though, and join Junseo on the bench of idols I would love to see debut again. Not sure about it, it will depend on the next episode ig. I did vote differently, tho! After this episode, I decided that I will change my really popular trainees to some that are in danger of being eliminated. So I have not been voting for Leo, Sangwon and Kangmin but I have been voting for Yoon Min, Jiang Fan and Xue Suren. I also thought that they would cliffhanger Whiplash. But ig they did choose to bait us with them maybe doing bad. I do think that they will do well in the actual performance tho and there is no way that the other team wins, you can't foul me Mnet haha. Well Ig I could actually spoil myself cause they released every single fancam yesterday but I really don't want to do that tbh. I do need to complain about the voting schedule again, it makes no sense. Like this is not even about favoritism anymore, even tho it definitely is super unfair to lots of trainees. It just seems like they did not have enough time. I'm definitely really looking forward to the next episode and to your reaction to it as well of course! :)
