I used to make kombucha, too! I love it but my husband is too grossed out by the process so I had to stop. But I did a lot of research at the time and here's a really good infographic which includes making the SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). But I think most people get a kit or get from a friend a starter SCOBY. For the purposes of a mod, though, making or buying a SCOBY would be the first step and not like the EA juice fizzer process at all, really. https://brewbuch.com/how-to-make-kombucha

Sounds delicious!

I started off with a starter tea and scoby I ordered. The scoby is the byproduct of the yeast the fermentation process makes. So, I bring to a boil 1 quart of water. I then take it off the heat and add 1 cup of sugar and stir till dissolved. I then add 4 tea bags. You can use green, black or white tea. I let them steep for 30 minutes. I remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to a warm temperature. I then pour that into a gallon jar that has 2 cups of cold water. Then I put the scoby on top and cover the gallon jar with a cloth and rubber band around it. Gnats love fermented products, and they will try to get in it if they can. I put a warming belt around the galloon jar and heat till 82 degrees Faren height. I find that's the ideal temp for me. I let it ferment anywhere from 4-10 days. Reserve 1 cup for the next batch and do it all over again. It will have just a little bit of sweetness but real fizzy. I then like to put it in 16oz. bottles with 1/4cup of a juice and let it second ferment anywhere from 2-14 days. It depends on the kombucha how soon the second fermentation takes. Sometimes you can over ferment your kombucha, initial fermentation, and the yeast has nothing to eat, sugar all gone, and there is not much fizz. The second fermentation can restore the fizz. It tastes delicious! My favorite flavor is Hibiscus with tart cherry.

We already have kombucha in game from the Eco Living pack via the juice fizzer. But its huge and I have been meaning to make some using a smaller appliance or maybe the stove! I would love to know how you make it ?

MunMun

Love it! No pressure but I have started making kombucha and am loving it. That would be nice for sims to be able to make it and get all the health benefits for our sims. I am torn writing this because you do so much already, and I really do appreciate it and love what you do. The microgreens just made me think of it. Thank you for all you do.

Sonya Holcomb

You're amazing! So excited. :)
