XToys Updates - Sept 7

Well, not much I originally had planned for the past month got worked on. Alas.

Backend Updates

I've spent most of the past month working through the time-consuming process of updating all of XToys dependencies and fixing the breaking changes they bring.

Most notable I'm moving to Capacitor 4. For now all that means is that everyone is going to have to download a mandatory update soon to continue using the iOS/Android app. But I'm hoping that it will also allow me to start working on a desktop client for those that want it.

This is probably going to remain where most of my time gets spent the next month as well.

Edge-o-Matic Support

I finally received the Edge-o-Matic and got it working with XToys. So now it's possible to have toys react to your 'arousal' level! There's some challenges connecting to it from Chrome because Chrome doesn't trust the server it runs, which is another reason it would be nice to have an XToys desktop client.

Dashboard Scaling

I added some support for zooming out in dashboard mode to see more controls. This is mostly to help people on mobile that are running toy controls and scripts and want to see everything at once. I've also changed how dragging blocks around works to not wildly shove every block out of the way. It's still a little finicky but at least it's better than it was.

User Block/Ban

When you kicked someone from your session previously it was possible for them to just immediately rejoin. I've made it now that kicked users are prevented from joining that session again. And it's also now possible to choose to ban the person from connecting to any future sessions as well.

Video Subtitle Triggers

It'll soon be possible to have toys react to what's being said in a video by way of reacting to detected subtitle text.

Pattern from Websocket Data

I'm working on adding support for creating a pattern that pulls in external live data. This is mostly to support the few people that have asked to populate patterns from their own implementations of system audio detection on macOS/Linux.

Toy Fixes

There's been a number of reports of various connectivity issues with toys from The Handy, Satisfyer, We-Vibe, and Fredorch. So I'll also be working on testing and fixing those bugs before moving on to new toys. Pavlok is the only new toy I'll likely add support for in the near term.

Comments

Any more updates to come ? or was it abandoned ?

Also a lot fronted changes. Fortunately that isn't tennis where you might see nothing from backhand or forehand quick play. If only sending data in teases multi-user mode work so good...
