This episode is a TOUGH one for sure, I definitely remember doing a good amount of shouting at the screen the first time around for someone to just TALK to Mariner. Oh also I was wondering if you were planning on doing a reaction to Those Old Scientists between S3 and S4 since that's chronologically when it takes place, I know you've watched it but a reaction would be fun especially now knowing the characters!

Not the voices. I meant they’re in the Next Gen episode. Merrick passed shortly after. Kahn’s bro is still doing trek stuff. I know he was in the “Message in a Bottle” episode of Voyager as the Romulan commander

I had no clue that David Markus and Khan's 'Yours...is...superior' Guy were the voices!
That is fantastic :)
Thank you so much for that info, my friend!

Ok, I agree Carol is a lil unforgivable. I love her and all but some of the stuff in this just cannot be explained away with a "sorry". And you're not wrong to feel a bit pissed about it. She's had a rocky relationship with her daughter, but it drags it down. There's quality jokes and goofs and callbacks, but there's a reason I don't re-watch this one. Altho, I just realized it watching this one, watch the reporter's face when Mariner's shuttle leaves. Your observation about it feeling like a set up, seems like it.
As for the Project Swingby, the episode of Next gen the planets form this are from is one of the better 1st season Next Gen eps "Symbiosis" (not a high bar but still). It's the first "Prime Directive kinda sucks" episode. Also, the representatives were Merritt Butrick (David Markus from Wrath of Khan) and Judson Scott (Joachim, Khan's right hand bro from Khan too) and it was fun to see them still rocking it in Star Trek.
