Empty Nest: Chapter 114

“Come on Family Man.” Cap says after all the welcomes and congratulations sort themselves out. “There’s a couple of things we need you to sign to register you for our league.”

“Right.” I look back to flash a smile at Heather before following along.

With Jenny and Coop behind me I am taken to a picnic table where they had laid out the paperwork along with a hideous purple and yellow short sleeved jersey emblazoned on the front with swirly disk. The jersey Cap tosses to me. I snatch it out of the air and look it over. Right away I could tell it was way too big for me, a bit frayed here and there, and there were some stains along the side. On the back was the team name ‘Gyroscopes’ along with the numbers 00.

“I’m number zero?”

“Wearing double ought is a right of passage.” Coop laughs. “We’ve all worn that jersey. It’s seen some shit.”

“You wore this once?” I quip. “That explains the stains.”

“Hey!” He objects, before chuckling. “How did you know?”

“It’s yours now, until you can get your own.” Cap taps a notepad beside the papers. “Here are all the numbers already taken. Choose a number of your own and write it down.”

“We’ll hold off on ordering you a jersey.” Jenny says. “We might have a sponsor soon.” Her voice raised at the end making it unclear if it was a question or a statement.

“Wha? No way!”

Coop nearly loses it when he finds out the potential sponsor was a brewery. Not that I needed it spelled out but hearing that confirmed what I’d suspected. Me being on the team was at least as much thanks to Rebecca’s efforts off the field as was mine on. As I run through the couple of forms I had to fill out then glance over the playbook as Cap explains things to me I find myself torn. This felt a bit dirty. I would have preferred to earn this spot through my own talent and effort. But…I couldn’t deny feeling a bit flattered by Rebecca tipping the scale in my direction either. It was nice knowing that somebody was looking out for me. It was something she didn’t have to do. She didn’t even like the sport, she thought it was silly. But, recognizing that it was important to me, she did it anyway. Never in my whole life had I been in a position where nepotism had worked for me instead of against me. Before I officially signed on I thought about refusing the offer until I could earn the spot properly but in the end I go with the flow and sign the papers. For something as frivolous as fun league Ultimate I wasn’t going to rebuff Rebecca’s efforts on my behalf. Besides, this was something that would benefit the whole team and not just me. And from what I could tell it wasn’t like I was taking the spot from someone else.

Once I was done I turn to head back and sit with Heather and my ladies. As I knew they would they welcome me back with love and enthusiasm. Before sitting I approach Rebecca.

“I heard what you did.”

She doesn’t even try to deny it. “You saw the uniform.” She nods at the jersey slung over my shoulder. “It is a crime against fashion. I’m just helping to beautify our fair city.”

“Well…thanks.” I say.

That little grin returns as she gives me a nod. “You are welcome, young Prince.” Taking my hand she gives it a ladylike shake. “I should be going. It has been…different.”

“Heh! Yeah. Sorry I wasn’t what you were hoping for.”

“Hm.” She pats my cheek. “We still need to talk. And my Roger will very much wish to meet you.”

“Yeah. I’ll come by as soon as I can.” I say. “Not sure when. Work, team, family. My life has suddenly gotten very busy!”

“This is the life you chose.” She says. “Have fun with…all of it.”

“I will.” I smile. “And hey, thanks for coming out to watch me. It, um, it meant a lot.” We stand a moment before I say. “Uh…should I hug you now or…”

“No.”

“Right! Right.” I say. “Just checking.”

From me Rebecca goes to Mia to say her farewells while I go and plop down beside Heather. Leaning into her shoulder I say. “It’s official. I’m a Gyro.”

“I see that.” She takes my jersey and spreads it out over her legs. “A little alteration and some hemming and we’ll have this tip-top.”

“Don’t bother. It’s communal. And don’t ask about the stains.”

“Oh.”

While I enjoy my drink and Heather’s company we watch the others gradually blend in with the larger group. Lily was still with Lamar and couple of the other players going over best practices for injury treatment and avoidance. I could tell they were hot for her, they’d have to be cadavers not to be, but I also saw that they were taking on her knowledge and appreciated it. Mia had broken out her violin and seemed to be composing some sort of theme song with a bunch of the girlfriends. Soon a dance was added to the tune to many giggles and gleeful shouts. Julie, meanwhile, was in and amongst the guys joking and bantering with the best of them. All around them was smiles and laughter. From time to time, when things would become too much for them to bear, they would hive off from their little group to return to Heather and I where they would linger close to touch me and bask in my aroma. After a few minutes they were good to return to what they’d been doing.

It was then that I truly began to appreciate why Heather taking on a Prince had been such a big deal. This was about so much more than sex. Having a safe male touchstone to return to was expanding their world nearly as much as it was mine. Seeing them out there so happy and knowing I had some role in that lifted my joyful heart.

I look to Heather to see her beaming back at me.

“They love you too.” She says softly. “They love you very much.”

“Heather.” I whisper and lean into her. “You’re going to make me cry.”

She laughs and puts her arms around me. “Well we can’t have that. My big, tough man crying in front of his friends. They’ll think you’re a soft boy.” She winks. “And that’s supposed our little secret.”

I laugh with her. “A man’s gotta keep up appearances.” I slip my arm around her. “Although, once we get home…and alone…I could really go for a little softness right now. It’s tough bein…tough.”

“Mmm.” She snuggles close. “I can’t wait.”

“Family Man!” Cap calls.

“Here, Cap.”

“You up for another round?”

I take in a deep breath and stretch my arms. The special drink the gals had made for me had me feeling as good as new. “Ready to go!” I turn to Heather and kiss her cheek. “Love ya.”

“Love you.” She says. “Don’t overdo it out there.”

“I won’t.”

I’d barely gotten to me feet when Lily and Mia approach me looking very excited. “Elliot! Briana’s here! Come, come, come.”

“Oh!” They each take one of my hands and pull me along behind them. “I gotta practice.”

“This won’t take long.” Lily says. “Just say hi at least. It’ll make her day.”

“Right. Briana. The one from Ireland.”

“That’s right.” Lily says. “We’re the closest thing she’s got to family over here.”

Ahead of me I see a woman seated on a park bench with her legs crossed as she casually scrolled through something on her phone. And what a woman! Blond, big tits barely held in by her revealing crop top, slender waist, big ol booty and a skirt that showed off ALLLL of her long, shapely fishnet covered legs. The tits I was pretty sure were fake but damn if they weren’t good work. Her plump botoxed lips were a bright red and the rest of her face was done up like she was going out for a night on the town. She had long fake nails, long fake lashes and jewelry aplenty. She was a living Barbie doll with all of the accessories.

We were about twenty feet away when a young man steps off the path to walk directly in front of us. Rude!

“Uh, excuse us!” I say to the lad as I go to lead the girls around him.

“Sir.” Mia giggles as she tugs at my hand. “This is Bri.”

“Huh?”

“Pleasure to meet ye, Elliot.” He…I mean…she takes my hand to shake it.

Only then do I actually stop to look at her more closely. What I see is a woman about five and a half feet tall with short pixie cut brown hair and bright blue eyes. She had on gray trousers, a cute gray vest, with a white collared shirt beneath it. Her leather shoes were of well-worn brown leather as was the belt that encircled her very slender waist. It wasn’t just her waist that was slender as she was willowy and lithe from head to toe. Her womanly curves were subtle though lovely. Her petite breasts were nearly invisible beneath her vest and her slim hips and small butt didn’t exactly put a strain on her dapper trousers. With a glance I notice nothing else bulging between her legs either. If she was a woman like the rest of them she could certainly hide it well. Atop her head was a gray newsboy hat slanted slightly to the side. Once my focus settles on the fine gaelic features of her face I realize how silly I’d been to think her a boy.

“Uh, yeah. Pleasure to meet you, Bri.”

She flashes a bright smile as we shake in earnest, her slender hand was soft yet calloused in places. These were hands that had seen some labor. As we shake she leans in to take a long draw of my scent then glances to Lily. “Ye weren’t lyin, were ye?”

Lily laughs. “Told ya.”

“Another one!?” Coop shouts out from the field.

“FAMILY MAN!” Bellows Cap.

“Coming!” I call back. “Uh, sorry Briana. Gotta go.” Our hands slip apart as I backpedal toward the field. “We’ll talk after.”

With that sexy Irish lilt she winks. “I look forward to it.”

Oh! You continue to cook! Nice curveball there😂. Gotta say I was really worried when the story switch to a more harem aspect but you've done a magnificent job balancing everything.
