Patrons Christmas Special

In this special patrons edition I read poems by Shelley, Yeats, Brecht and Carpenter and reflect how these works capture revolutionary spirit. So I hope you enjoy this Christmas special and that, however you are spending the season, it proves a good one for you!

Love poetry recitals, thanks! I am a big fan of Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Marxist poet from Pakistan he writes in a very compact, traditional style which uses human love as a metaphor for so much more. https://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tonight-11/

Spot on about the position regarding the "rule of law etc". The Palestine and Ukraine outrages were coming to mind as you began your discussion. I've thought for a long time that the UN was little more than a talking shop and that the only serious resolutions that would pass through the Security Council would be at the behest of our American cousins. I do wonder why Russia and China continue to have faith in the UN, or at least appear to do so. Oh for a poet of Shelley's calibre in today's world. I hope you'll find the time to do more of these readings.

A fantastic Christmas that went exceptionally well. I didn't expect that you could make such a merry, ML Christmas so succinct. To read and explain beautiful writing in it's historical context in relation to Marxism is exactly apt plus your mood and summary was spot on. Merry Christmas Comrades!
