The Hill (1965) - Film Review

In this special patreon edition of the programme I'll be reviewing the 1965 Sidney Lumet film 'The Hill'. Set in a military prison in the Libyan desert in world war 2 the film offers a wholly different perspective than the earlier British war moveis of the 1950s and 1940s.

Starring - Sean Connery, Harry Andrews, Ossie Davies, Ian Hendry, Ian Bannen, Michael Redgrave, Norman Bird, Jack Watson

Thank you Alex. I hesitated, not sure if this would interest me, but that was fascinating. It’s really whetted my appetite to watch the film. I’ve seen so few films & am unfamiliar with many of these directors & actors. As kids (I was 11 when this was made) I don’t recall ever watching films on TV. I recall cowboys, documentaries & dramatisations of Dickens. I recall my Dad twice taking me to the cinema: Zulu 1964 & Huckleberry Finn (1960 version?). I guess there’s online rental.
