He has written several pieces on the subject including for the CPUSA publication 'Peoples World' covering the war against the military regime and role played by the Communist Party of Burma.

I think this interview needs context from other thinkers. This interview on the Grayzone with Vijay Prashad from February 2021 regarding Myamnar helps https://thegrayzone.com/2021/02/20/vijay-prashad-explains-myanmar-coup/ . All I know is that in my line of work I see a lot of Westerners who have had to leave Myanmar since 2021. They were there for Western Imperialism's interests, in particular anti-Chinese interests. Those interests took a setback with the events of 2021. But as Vijay says, there are no good guys in this.
