Nasrallah Speaks

Today (November 3rd 2023) Hassan Nasrallah, General Secretary of Hezbollah, gave a speech on the Gaza war. Expected by many to be a declaration of war he instead delivered an interesting analysis of the situation which included appeals to the Lebanese masses, the populations of Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia and warnings to the imperialists. In this episode I analyses the different aspects of the speech and why it has such great importance.

This is, of course, trusting the Israeli official story on its face, even as more accounts come out saying that the IDF is responsible for shooting at their own citizens - Hannibal doctrine.

I know this is an unpopular way of looking at it, but the fact that so few people were responsible for a life-and-death decision, affecting the millions depending on them, makes the decision to inflict large civilian casualties--as opposed to sticking to military targets--on Oct. 7 rather interesting, in light of the certainty of massive Israeli reprisals. For example, I wonder if the Palestinian organizations who carried out the raid are mandated, in one way or the other, by the masses to take that kind of risk.
