Good show. Surely it would make more sense for US imperialism if Israel was a much calmer more stable entity than it is. Acting like a rabid dog in the way that it does has effectively brought the Ukraine War to an end, has destabilised the region and as you point out pushed reactionary regimes in the ME to the brink of rebelling. The relevant comparison with Ukraine is if Azov was actually the government in Ukraine —rather than merely an influential subsidiary within it—with a functioning state apparatus on its hands. The fact that the US is responding in the way that it is owes at least in part to the strength of Zionist ideology in the US state imo. Zionism while certainly a tool of US imperialism is not reducible to US imperialism. Moreover Zionist groups are well aware of the danger of the transactional nature of US/Israeli relations and have taken necessary steps. Ideology aside I don’t think we can discount the number of politicians and political figures in the US that are compromised or blackmailed. The fact that RFK Jr —an otherwise far sighted bourgeois politician prepared to stand up to the MIC, the CIA and Big Pharma—has nonetheless decided to torpedo his peace candidacy on Israel being one possible example. I suspect Epstein’s list is just the tip of the iceberg.
