Duelling Speeches

In the first part of our analysis of President Putins speech to the  Russian Federal Assembly we examine the part of the speech dealing with  the Ukraine war and special military operation.

This leads into a  discussion of the class war that has been waged upon the Ukrainian  working class by the oligarchy and why they turned to a coup when they couldn't get the EU agreement through in 2014.

We then turn to look at  old man Bidens ramblings in Poland and his farewell to Zelensky in Kiev.

Outro music is The International sung in Ukrainian

Started reading through Putin's speech. It's my first time reading one of those, and it's a trip (in a good way). Parts of it sound like a lefty anti-imperialist talking. Sorry for the platitude, but it's always good to see things from the other guy's perspective. I recommend the exercise.

Even if Gorbachev had got an agreement down on paper in 1990, the US would still have broken it. Good examples of this are Kumanovo Agreement signed with Yugoslavia in 1999 after the Kosovo War which would have allowed Yugoslav police to return to the province as well as guaranteeing Yugoslavia's territorial integrity and the JCPOA with Iran signed in 2015 which Trump later repudiated.
