patreon

Finally on Patreon

Hey guys it's Zilmar. I have had different people suggest I should be using Patreon, so I decided to check it out and see how it goes.

This might be a good way to allow the fans guide more the work I do so that I can create the best emulator for you.

If there is  anything  you like to see either here, or in the emulator let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Honestly, I really like the emulator, and I do think it is much better than any other emulator out there. If there's any features I'd like to see in Project 64, it would definitely be a RAM viewer and object viewer. And now for my criticism, just so you know, it would be recommended to remove the prompts for support on the emulator. If the prompts for support are removed from the emulator, only then will I become a supporter and back your Patreon. Most people that I know are put off by the emulator from the distraction and delay after opening up the emulator. I am aware that there is a way of building the emulator without the prompts for support, but not everyone knows how to

Latest git builds aren't showing up on Pj64 site but can be downloaded via emu crimson site

Love the emulator and project, and glad that I can help to support your efforts.

Thanks man. So you're working on improving the GFX plug-in and you may want to pitch here about the netplay and the other cool stuff you've listed on the forums so others that use Patreon can see it.

Kahlúa Rio

thank you Kahlúa for your willingness to support project64. In theory most of the games should work even out of the big main ones. You do no9t have to be donating $20 a month, even $3 a month is helpful. I did write before with some of the things I want to do (<a href="http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=7578)." rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=7578).</a> I am doing some work on the website now to help improve communications to better inform people what I am doing. The reason I have not worked on the site before was I focused on the emulator and improving that. My goal is to get it 100% perfect, most of the issues seem more to do with the gfx plugin so I am starting to focus on that more.

Project64

My biggest questions are if you plan to work on getting games like Iggy's Reckin' Balls, Extreme G-2, and 1080 Snowboarding to a playable state... Or if the main focus is still min maxing the performance of bigger mainstay games like Zelda, DK64, and Mario 64... because I'm not sure i'm all too interested in donating $20 a month to this when I could just go hdmi hard-mod a real N64 and buy a capture card and everdrive-64. As much as I would absolutely love to see PC get a stable n64 emulator, the last time I used this emulator-- It really couldn't do much with some of the other games that weren't Mario or Zelda-- but it still performs better than the other emulators out there. So i'm torn, what do you guys think? It's 2017, wouldn't a full functioning n64 emulator already be out by now? Zilmar, can you elaborate on your goals if you want us to become patrons? Maybe tell us what hardware you plan on buying for development and testing. Thanks.

Kahlúa Rio

Zilmar, please share that news on the internet more. I just knew today that you had a patreon. Ive shared with my friends on twitter and FB to help you. Next month ill probably start giving some money too :D

I got your msg thanks got to get home to try it maybe a week or so i did msg you in form thanks will there be a 64 bit version

larry

with the prompts on the pc version I sent you a message through patreon that will have code to remove it.

Project64

if you can access the forum send me (zilmar) a private message and I will give you access to the builds through the forum. I plan to build hopefully in the next few weeks to make it easier for patreons to get builds and have a place not though the forum.

Project64

Also will this remove prompts from the pc releases

larry

Is there any download links through Patreon for new / Git releases etc I've registered twice for your web site but when i go to log in it says I'm not authorized and my password or email is incorrect

larry

I am not waiting for anything, i am just a 5e/month Patreon for 6 month because all you already did is very good. Good work ! [i am a French who support Patreon of emulator project]. I said this because maybe it interest you to know how to make more Fan (maybe asking emulator website to do a news to make people know about it)... I am sur, at least, they can do it.

T22 (French fan)

here is my rough list I had down for my self, this the starting point of the road map (in no particular order). * D3d version of glide64 (this is actually using a library Angle as a DX wrapper around OGL es) * General Improvements to glide64 * CFB improvements to glide64 * Redo the website here * Create test roms. * Improve Cycle Accuracy * Add netplay * Low Level emulation * Improve speed and stability on android * Refactor/Clean up RSP * 100% open source * Native 64bit version I go in to some more detail on the Project64 Forum (<a href="http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=7578)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://forum.pj64-emu.com/showthread.php?t=7578)</a>

in terms of more specifics the project needs to address the obvious issues: 64bit, multicore, LLE via Vulcan, etc there is such scope for N64 emulation in general to become more collaborative and more modern -it's exciting possibility, not sure why more people haven't gotten together sooner

David Fallaha

@zilmar i support the idea of this (and have supported the project directly in the past) but unless the project moves in the Dolphin direction ie a proper community (not just HatCat being rude to anyone who cannot compile) then i believe you'll struggle to get support just my two cents

David Fallaha

Thumbs UP!!

theboy181

Just curious. I don't know what to expect. It's been around for a while. It'd be neat to see it shape up like dolphin did. Clean up old stuff and just general optimizations. Honestly I don't know much about emulators but it's nice to be able to support the development in some way.

Kenneth Edmonds

Is there something specific you like to see in Project64, or just curious what is coming in the future?

Project64

I'm very excited to be supporting! Good luck. Hopefully we can see a road map for the emulator soon!
