Website & Community Launch
Added 2021-01-05 19:12:18 +0000 UTCWe finally have a logo, a website, and a community space! Thanks for soundflora* for designing both the logo and the site.

After much deliberation, I've decided to stick with good old IRC for our chat system. Matrix users are welcome to join via the Matrix to IRC gateways. More information on the IRC channels that we have is available and logs links here.
If enough users ask for Discord, I will consider setting up an IRC-Discord gateway :-)
I would also encourage users who want to contribute, or who are interested in such matters, to read our copyright policy. It sets out where we stand and what approach the project will take towards ensuring that the outcome of Asahi Linux is legal and clean.
With this, I think I've finally run out of critical project and community management tasks, so it's finally time to get back to working on the reverse engineering and programming!

More code that might help you along https://github.com/corellium/linux-m1
2021-01-20 13:18:04 +0000 UTCIt makes sense to have something (discord or not, whatever) that lets the past conversations be kept and searched. The only think I don't like about vanilla IRC is that you have to have it running all the time otherwise you miss so much.

2021-01-06 16:47:40 +0000 UTCThe site is looking great, and the bridge might help if people want to access via discord - I'd be happy to help get that running
2021-01-05 22:54:43 +0000 UTCThanks for going with IRC, it's appreciated by many people and gives people greater diversity of access (clients, devices, OSes)
2021-01-05 22:53:51 +0000 UTCAnother vote here for a Discord server - it takes only moments to setup, and a few min to admin. If you need help I volunteer to help admin for you. I already do for a number of servers related to computing...
2021-01-05 22:29:33 +0000 UTCI think that is a completely fair compromise, I've seen other open source projects (such as Godot) also use https://matrix.org/ as a FOSS alternative to Discord, though I'm not particularly familiar with it

2021-01-05 20:28:21 +0000 UTCYep. I can confirm it is working now. Thanks!
2021-01-05 20:18:52 +0000 UTCI'm okay with setting up a Discord presence as long as the canonical location is IRC, i.e. we have IRC logs we control and nobody is forced to use Discord. But I want to gauge interest first :) (I'm not against proprietary software, e.g. the Mac bootloader is proprietary too, but Discord's ToS are problematic and I don't want to force anyone to have to use it)

2021-01-05 20:14:46 +0000 UTCOkay, something *really* weird happened with the Patreon editor, I think some Unicode snuck into the URL somehow. I deleted the whole link and created it again, I think it's finally fixed.

2021-01-05 20:13:27 +0000 UTCProblem with discord is the proprietary protocol which goes somewhat against the ethos of this project. Setting up something like quassel for IRC isn't difficult and gives a similar level of functionality.
2021-01-05 20:12:23 +0000 UTCNo still broken for me:( I fixed it in my browser:)
2021-01-05 19:47:28 +0000 UTCI think it's fixed, thanks for the notice :)

2021-01-05 19:40:05 +0000 UTCAbove, the URL below the logo displays a colon, but still links to the colon-less URL. I.e. it's still wrong BTW, the site looks good

2021-01-05 19:36:46 +0000 UTCI would greatly appreciate Discord presence for the project, I much prefer it over IRC
