[Blog] Patches, Dodging the Bullet

As you may or may not know, Conquest does not do business with communists or companies that utilize child labor. When I started this company, I wanted it to be rooted in the principles of ethical capitalism.
So, when I found out the previous company was outsourcing to get the work for the patches done in Chinese sweatshops, I had no choice but to cancel my order with them and seek out another more local company.
Only I never quite expected the difference in the cost would be as extreme as it was, and since I am unwilling to take a dip in quality for the backers, I am letting you all know that baring a miracle, these will be the last batch of patches I produce in the foreseeable future.
I am essentially taking a major loss to deliver them to you, which is okay, and in a way, I am very fortunate that the campaign didn't explode any more than it did, or I might have found myself in some trouble or being forced to compromise my principles.
I'm especially lucky I did not choose to go with the full back patch as it appears on the back of Jack's coat as I'd originally intended. I can only imagine how expensive a larger patch would have cost!
What kind of Merch would you like to see from Conquest Comics in the future?
