2026-02-16 21:18:48 +0000 UTCAs someone who did play a sword and board ancestral guardian barbarian (halfling so I couldn't use heavy weapons in the 2014 rules) for a few years, you don't have to be unarmored to use rage. You can wear medium armor and also use a shield and you literally don't lose any benefits, all that matters is that you aren't wearing heavy armor. If your gm gives you a good one-hander (like a flametongue) you really don't feel the loss of not using a heavy weapon and you can just absorb so much damage.
