It's the first time we see Zelda as an actual protagonist rather than a damsel in distress, and Link's attempts to get kisses always result in failure; it's a lesson on how *not* to be a hero, just as much as it shows how to be one.

Jeezusss, ya'll. ending by referring to the ghosts as "those who are less deserving" was pretty unambiguous nail in that white washed coffin, huh? However, though I too absolutely disavow Pac Man and his gleefully colonizing family ... that lady ghost was kinda sexy, no? There was a story behind those eyes and vague hips shape that don't lie

However; Legend of Zelda made me legitimately upset it was so bad and so off base of the source material.
