Wowie zowie! Emily was Beardsley-blessed with all those nat 20’s, my golly!

Doctor Ransom

Yeah, disagree with you here. From my perspective this campaign has demonstrated everyone's growth of understanding of the game and growth as friends. This campaign is not only fleshes out the characters as individuals and as a group, but also has been adding more depth to the first campaign! What more could you want??

kerokaze

Love the music when Sol makes breakfast for everyone

kerokaze

Guys...the "austere tent" could so easily have been the Faustere Tent! 🦆

Erik Farrar

When callie crit on hardwon and she used her luck blade, I just KNEW she would crit again, thats a good story right there.

Max Herzog

Calliope, my beloved ♥️ I have always been "too emotional" and experienced the pendulum swing to losing myself trying to be "more serious." Watching Em masterfully play out this arc through the manifestation of Callie's magic and her eladrin fey traits got me goooooood. I have loved all of your characters, Emily, but Callie just gives me a different level of comfort.

Jamie Matthews

Also goddamnit I knew what was gonna have Hardwon so fucked up but I am still just so devastated lol

Michael Beck

The automaton sounds just like a Dalek lol, I love it

Michael Beck

Has anyone ever enjoyed listening to good roleplay and strong narrative storytelling? Who's to say??

Ty Cameron

Can I plug the Hoboniche day planner - it’s absolutely amazing

Charlie Hoskin

Honda fit slander 😭😣

Amanda Weisbrod

For sure me. These are the sessions that remind you that your characters are people and not just loony tunes characters.

Katie Gunn

Honda fit AC had me choking

Javan Thomas

it's also a I think a super interesting way to play an eladrin! interesting to see how the seasons play to their character and I'm excited to see more, there's defo more focus on character this season but they're still keeping it light Bev defo had a similar arc in campaign one when he changed his oath and then consistently played a slightly less cheery lad. It's fun to explore your characters, all the players are on the same page and we are still quite early in the story... There'll be a summer or autumn eladrin on the horizon I'm sure once she finished this character arc!

Egg

I think that's part of the journey that Callie is still yet to learn so obviously they're not telling you everything

Egg

Nooooooo not Cobb🥺🥺🥺

Holton Hester

Hardwon actually was GOATED for the climb. He's come so far since moonstone.

Ian Hanson

Emily you can't just casually drop that youre using day planners now and leave it at only that. My planner obsessed brain needs to know more!!!! (even if ill probably never stray from kokuyo techo's weekly planners)

Molly

Pouring one out for Cobb and keepin it light this evening

AstraHorn

I couldn't disagree more. This is excellent acting and story telling. This is my favorite arc of any campaign so far.

Growing up is learning to emotionally handle all the pain you've lived through, remember the joy, becoming practical but not losing the parts of you that are unique and joyful to you. Callie is just in the painful part, experiencing the winter of her nature while having it bump up against her fae whimsy. I think growth is the balance of that. Being practical is not only necessarily a negative consequence from loss but pure pragmatism with no hint of the whimsy which she used to draw from life, that polar swing, is clearly her trying shut herself off from the world, which is not healthy. The balance will be that growth.

tyalaman

Emily’s using her character’s race mechanics to express her feelings after experiencing some horrible things. Winter is, as we’ve seen with her mother, associated with practicality and austerity. The deep, primal part of you might not be applicable to this instance.

tacticalgrandma

Lol same

Also, with as much love for the cast as I can conjure, a deep, primal part of me resents the association of austereness and practicality with a tragic loss of soul. People can learn to be more practical and take things more seriously and that's a good thing. We do it IRL and it's called growing up.

MrMach6

I love the players, I really do, but I'm getting a little exhausted with how much C3 seems to primarily be about the characters having these myopic journeys through their own emotional states. There's not a lot of subtext in much of the character development, which is what makes character development good. That told-not-shown, really spelled-out character work ends up taking a lot of weight away from what might otherwise be kickass character decisions through actions and organic dialogue that speaks for itself.

MrMach6

This arc is just banger after banger

Hey Caldwell, Honda Fits can Klump!

Carey Compton

I was minding my own business listening and driving my Honda Fit, then: Caldwell: This thing’s made out of like a Honda Fit

How do y’all do so much good?

Taylor Bullman

Bawled my eyes out at work, thanks for that gang

Beef

I love how Calli’s working in the winter eladrin stuff both with aesthetics and personality!

tacticalgrandma

Me

Matthew La Rosa

Has anyone ever enjoyed playing or listening to a “My character is extremely sad now, everyone sleep on the cold ground until you cheer me up” DnD session?

Morgan

“The Ones We Left Behind” “Frog in the Fog” “Too Late” I’m on to you, Murph, & you trying to make me think there’s character death in suspenseful episodes. I’m only getting nervous around episodes called like “A New Wardrobe” or whatever.

tacticalgrandma

You guys seriously do a good swing from frankly ridiculous to genuinely moving and sincere. This epp had me laughing out loud and choking up. Props to you all. Thick sode

Ben Beckwith

Wow, I did not expect to be so emotional following the revelation of certain information. Holy shit, I’ve got to stop listening in the car.

Tim

PSA BTW: "geas" is actually pronounced "gesh," like Sean Connery saying "guess." (It's Gaelic, hence the screwy pronunciation)

mike

I really wanna know how long Murph had to pause before coming up with that Geas ruling because that call was inspired and I'd be in awe if he came up with it on the spot.

mike

Em saying 'Who fucking invited you' in Callie's accent. exactly the British girl energy.

1:14:14 is the moment Hardwon had to start a new podcast on the Headgum network investigating why Callie would say he had Dead Eyes.
