2025-02-25 17:31:49 +0000 UTCHaving a PC end up being the BBEG can be so fun IF the player is in on it š my dm is my partner and we had a plan for my character to turn evil if the PC she was in love with died. I had planned that she would go on a whole revenge quest and try to bring back the other character as a lich if need be. It didnāt end up needing to happen but coming up with the scenario with my partner and dm was so fun.

I guess he misunderstood what it did tho based on how he's talking about it. it's certainly not a 1 time use "giving yourself advantage on every attack is a lot" *laughs in lvl 3 gloomstalker* alternatively *laughs in full spellcaster cause it still doesn't make martials good*

2022-12-04 02:05:58 +0000 UTCAs a dm, a lot happens at the table and if I have to go back and roll something it's usually easier to just reroll, however if my player had said um, can we use the first roll I would be like yeah absolutely. If one of my players for ANY reason said 'you can do this or fuck off' I would dismiss them from my table immediately.

2022-11-16 21:47:45 +0000 UTCYunkle definitely beefed the ruling, but it was at least understandable for a new dm, especially one who might have come from other board games where lots of people re-roll dice when turns are get rolled back and misunderstood. The player's behavior after was unacceptable though.

2022-11-12 13:56:58 +0000 UTCI made the same mistake with my druid and the staff of python! Definitely became a thorn in my ass haha. It does break if the snake dies but right before it dies you can just use a bonus action and it turns back into the staff and then on the next turn you can resummon it and its back at full health. Definitely a broken item. I just ended up making the encounters more difficult do admit I have a problem of giving my player's cool items to early lol.

2022-11-11 16:36:23 +0000 UTCExcited to have had my case read...one thing I'd like to point out is Jake messed up my pronouns, I am a girl. To elaborate more details I cut to keep it brief. In my case, my (yes ex) girlfriend had planned to have me betray the rest of the party by blackmailing me by having the villains threaten my character's npc love interest..since that game, I'm firmly against running any sort of romance with the PCs (im made me uncomfortable anyway.) She would often backstab the party when she were a player regardless if the other players were into that narrative ..I am still friends with her but we don't play in each other's games because we clearly have different ideas for how d&d can work as collaborative storytelling.
