M&M tube dick is giving me the forbidden Skittle commercial vibes.

Jordan Holl

Listening to this on the subway and trying not to laugh like a maniac at m&m/fondant dick

Tim R

Coming in so late just to switch from archaeology as a topic, that I share Emily's visceral disgust at the fondant dick filled with mini M&Ms. eeeewwwwwwwww

Chiming in 5 months later as an archaeologist. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard the archaeology/paleontology mix-up, it would have paid for my Master's degree.

Hannah

Very late to this episode but as an archaeologist it’s been fun reading the comments and seeing how many of us there are here!

Archaeologist here! So (roughly): Paleontology - this is the study of animal life. Geology - this is the study of the content of the physical earth itself. History - this is the study of what has been written about human societies. Archaeology - this is the study of human societies. In America, Archaeology is a subset of Anthropology, which is the study of societies both modern and ancient, while in Europe Archaeology is its own independent field of research, with the focus being on understanding non-extant peoples (we like to say 'understanding the past to better comprehend the present and prepare for the future,' when we're pressed about it at parties). There are multiple forms of archaeology. Some archaeologists work entirely in the lab or the library, working with research done by others in the field, while other archaeologists are in the field, working on active excavations. As a professional archaeologist I work extensively in the field, but as an also academic archaeologist I also work considerably in the archives. Archaeology can work hand in hand with Paleontology, Geology, and History, as all these sciences compliment the other, but the four fields are distinct. Sometimes we are digging bones. An archaeologist who specialises in bones is an Osteoarchaeologist. Other archaeologists can go their entire lives and never touch a skeleton, as their speciality may be in something else - the study of ancient foods, ceramics, political systems, currency, etc. My speciality is in understanding historical conflict, so I work a lot with skeletons, though I am no specialist in the skeletons themselves; more the situations surrounding the death of the individual.

As a geologist I think I can help! We will use density surveys in the Fae Wild to find egg shaped anomalies. I’m sure dragon eggs are DENSE

Funny that I am at work at Trader Joe’s listening to this episode. Anyway those chocolate covered joe joes are back this year so get em while you can

Ok mini m&ms are so good though there IS more shell but the shell is thin and they’re easy to chew and that just makes them better to me. I’m 5 minutes in and already triggered, jk love you guys (I did gasp audibly though and my bf was concerned) give mini m&ms another try 😂❤️

Did Emily get to use her umbrella this week?
