We just wanted to get your thoughts on a new potential overlay for the full length watch-along videos. We've seen a few comments recently saying that the copyright text overlay is a bit too invasive on the screen, and a couple of comments asking for a timecode visible on the screen too.
We both thought the timecode idea was bloody brillaint so we've got one here to test out, hopefully this should help make it super easy to sync up with us 🤞 In regards to the copyright text, unfortunately we can't not have an overlay of sorts covering the video, but we're looking at going for a blur instead, hopefully this should be a little less invasive on the screen, along with the timecode should make for a better experience.

This is much better! Also, in case the user's copy has a different time stamp (I've seen that in some cases - might be a regional thing), an occasional unblurring w/audio would really help us adjust to make sure we are staying in sync (seen this with other reaction channels and/or with stuff like Rifftrax which makes it much easier to ensure you are still in sync).

2025-06-28 20:52:58 +0000 UTCI am also subscribed to few who do the same however one of the ones I watched had legal issues last year due to studios who owned some of the content they had shared finding out that had done that. Patreon doesn't check copyright that is why they can post fully however if they are caught doing so it is illegal so not worth the risk, sadly. That is why a lot such as badd medicine and reel rejects as well as jack and dan get you to sync up. <3

It seems (as a viewer) that they upload directly to patreon instead of adding a private YouTube link. I’m not sure if that is an option for you but figured I’d throw it out there! If not, I love the timestamp idea

2025-06-28 03:43:25 +0000 UTCi personally don’t like a full blur on the screen. it makes me feel like i need my glasses on. i tend to like if captions are on you can still read them, but i still watch plenty of other reactors that also deal with copywrite issues like this so it won’t make me stop watching your videos by any means

2025-06-27 15:35:23 +0000 UTCa great way I seen others do is doing a countdown to click play, and then showing the first 10 seconds of the video with a timestamp, that way the viewer can sync up. Then after the 10 seconds you blur the video, but still with time stamp

2025-06-27 14:08:02 +0000 UTCThat works well. The timestamp gets you close and being able to watch the blue and see when the camera angle/scene shifts, really enables you to get spot on with the sync, regardless of the video source being used for the watchalong

I’ve had it happen a bunch of times, so I’m really grateful we are keeping a blurred screen too to help stay in-sync for those that have versions different. Also some movies have extended editions in the US etc that aren’t listed as such. Whilst watching the Paranormal Activity 3 & 4 reactions on here, you guys had extended editions but mine was not that for some reason, so seeing the screen behind either writing or blurred is a HUGE help. Thank you for being so THOUGHTFUL of us guys. It means a lot, and it means we can watch in-sync with ease and be able to focus on what we are here for….watching your hilarious reactions!
