By the end of this episode you should have a better understanding of the different forms of capital, the difference between value and price as well as the difference between surplus value and profit. An admirably clear and succinct exposition of the theory of surplus value. One thing I'd like to hear more elaboration on is why labor is the substance of value. I find Marx's own presentation a little cryptic on this point, including the 'third 'thing' argument at the beginning of Capital I. I haven't found a secondary source that clears this up either.
