exactly right. capitalists have been threatening to end work via replacement by robots or machines since the 50s at least. Never happens.

Thanks for this insightful episode, I think it's a good follow-up to the discussion of the Great Reset and the "own nothing and be happy" meme that's trotted out all the time I think another element at play here that undermines the neofeudalism argument is the overestimation of the current and near-term capacity for technology to replace essential functions through automation, etc or become autonomous. So similar to the pitfalls of COVID and climate change analysis, the neofeudalists fail to examine the tech industries marketing fluff about robots being right around the corner
