CRT reminds me of Victorian etiquette. The disgust and offense exhibited by its proponents feels similar to the fury of the Victorian petite bourgeois against a servant who accidentally hands them a salad fork to eat soup with. Excellent podcast btw. I discovered you recently via Max Blumenthal's Foreign Agents.

I've felt a large degree of middle-class concern for the racism of the working class to by and large be a matter of projection. The working class, by it very nature and the by the necessity of global capitalism, is by far the most ethnically and cultural diverse group in any capitalist society. The drive of capital concentration, on the other hand, enforces within more prosperous groups exclusionary worldviews that have been a driving engine racism, especially in the USA. In fact, it is absolutely critical to remember that Southern Racism--what is generally considered the foundation of all US Racism--was a child truly bred within the Middle-Class bosom. The KKK was founded as a gentlemen's club for former Confederate Officers and slave-estate holders. In terms of the rest of the West in general, we all know where Nazism was born as well. For all the rhetoric of inclusion and sensitivity that middling academics and managers crone on and on about, in truth middle-class spaces are probably some of the most culturally and idealogical homogenous places imaginable, only interacting with other cultures in the most facile and ideologically sterilized way.
