[NEWS] Small break and what I am working on right now

Hey!

Thanks again so so much for your support.

After posting 3 videos in a row super close to one another, due to personal reasons I won't get in detail because they are not just personal but frankly quite boring and not that interesting I need to take a small break of around a month from working on videos.

I will be back as soon as possible (this is not burnout or anything, material reasons stop me from being able to work on quality videos right now and I don't want and will not rush projects trying to make this work when it can't)

THAT SAID:

I want to give you some news on what I am working on/what you can expect coming up as soon as I'll be back (which again will be pretty soon)

The next video is going to be about the PlayStation 2. Haven't talked about the console since I made my PSBBN video about 9 months ago, but this time the topic is going to be a bit more weird: my favorite PS2 game (Stuntman), which suffers from frequent frame drops and frankly would BADLY need some upscaling, is basically impossible to emulate with today's technlogy.

This is not because of legal reasons or because of stuff that can be overcome with understanding the PS2 more: the problem is widely understood, and it is fundamentally related to a key difference at the core of how processors work and how the PS2 treats floating-point arithmetic in a completely different way compared to most computer processors... and frankly most processors in general lol

Coming into this I had NO IDEA what a floating point was and why this was important (I am pretty open about my being mostly focused on art and my tech knowledge coming out of my passion for tech itself, so I am constantly learning new stuff), BUT looking more and more into it I discovered this is a super interesting topic in general so yeah, we are gonna talk about that.

AND Stuntman. I love the game and this is a great excuse to tell you all about it.

So, that's gonna be the next thing, and after that... Well I actually don't know what I'll do since right now I do have like 5 projects on hold and don't know which one will be finished first.

But yeah, stay tuned for more as always!

But yeah, I am talking a SMALL SMALL break and I am making this post to be transparent about what is going on in my life and don't want to seem like a freeloader if I stop updating you on stuff for a little bit.

Thanks again for everything, you are significantly drastically making my life better and I can't stress how huge this is for me.

Comments

Nothing wrong with breaks, they help avoid burnout and allow more time for the creative juices and curiosity mind grow. We will still be here no matter what.

Really excited about this one! Stuntman is probably the game I spent most of my PS2 time playing, and well, I'm a computer architecture nerd :) EDIT after learning Enter sends the comment: needless to say but take as much time as you need and come back when you can.
