After my cycling trip along the Meuse, I decided to head back home. The nice bike path had come to an end, there wasn’t that much interesting left to see along the way, and I didn’t want to abandon my bike after it had served me so well. On top of that, I was carrying too much gear to continue, which I could never fit into my backpack, so I decided to reorganize everything at home and plan my next steps more carefully.
A while later, I set off again to continue my journey. The yard I departed from was the first decent yard closest to Sedan. With the bright sun still in the sky and the trees full of green leaves, I looked forward to a pleasant trip: a few local freight train rides, plenty of abandoned spots for me to explore... A calm second part of my France adventure.
But France apparently had other plans for me! Never before had I encountered the police so many times on a single trip, and rarely had things become so complicated due to factors beyond my control. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it, the chaos and unpredictability, the quiet moments, the beautiful locations, and the mission to reach the coast. It was a good one.
I hope you enjoy this video.
