Romania

We are in Romania for two days now. After jumping off an intermodal, which we rode for 15 hours, we caught this train in the city of Arad. It's a log train bound for Moldova, but we won't ride it all the way there. Right now we are sided in a yard at the border of Transylvania, a central province in Romania. There is nothing around us except mountains, fields and trees. It's quiet. We are uncertain when it will move, but for now I don't really care. After riding for hours on a loud freight train, you really learn to appreciate the quiet moments when it stops, like this one. You eat something, you drink, chill in the sun and just relax, with the driver probably doing the same as you. The temperature is slowly dropping, but the tree trunks are still warm from the sun that has shone on them all day.

I'm pretty sure we will see the sun setting in this place, since it's probably waiting for the passenger traffic to die down. Gondolas with tree trunks don't have a high priority. We are only halfway to our destination, and we are already on this train for 8 hours, so it will be a long, cold night. But the many stars will definitely make up for it.
