Development Update (09.07.2023)

Hey everyone!

It's been sometime now since the new update landed. We hope you liked it! The team has been eagerly looking through the feedback to try and refine the game even more.

So if you have any thoughts, please let us know!

As for today's topic, I wanted to take some time and explain why this update took so long to get released, and how Vinovella University's development differs from our other project, Fetish Locator.

What you see above is our Story Board that we use to keep track of the story 📝

It might be a little confusing, but that image encompasses the most recent 4th release of the game on Patreon, right up until Chapter-7—the newest chapter.

This chapter was massive and we planned it to be this way from the very beginning of the game.

Some of you might wonder why we couldn't cut down the content to have released the update sooner, but that would've been a very subpar experience given the design of the game.

Even though support from Patreon was reducing every month without a new update, we stayed strong on the idea of delivering the way it was meant to be played instead of breaking it up to simply get more money.

This game is a very big and ambitious project, and we need much more support to be able to keep this level of quality going.

Luckily, we are able to bankroll this project for now because we have a different project eating the costs, however, that is not a very sustainable strategy.

The core team working on VU is different from FL, and we need to be able to sustain and grow that team through VU alone.

As you probably noticed, this update took us around 10 months to make—which just so happened to be one month after we released Fetish Locator Week Three on Steam.

We wouldn't have been able to deliver both huge projects in such a time window if we were to have just one team only focusing on one thing at a time.

I hope you share our enthusiasm for making great stories and continue to support us and spread the word about VU so that we can continue making this game into the amazing story that it can be!

Our work never stops! We are already working on Chapter-8, so keep an eye out for snippets of that in future updates! 👀
