Early Access - Pearl Harbor: A Third Wave To Destroy Oil Tanks?

Did Japan blunder at Pearl Harbor by not sending a Third Wave and destroying American Oil reserves? Joining me is historian and Pacific War expert Jonathan Parshall and we discuss why things are different than often seen, how war movies can shape perceptions of a battle far more than they should and how Japan fought their campaigns.

I enjoyed your discussion with Jon Parshall; always enjoy his stuff and have been watching him for years now as a guest on the Unauthorized History of the Pacific War podcast (are the only shirts he wears Hawaiian?). This video gives a lot of food for thought, as I've been one of those who always believed that idiotic Admiral Nagumo blew it by not authorizing a third strike to take out the oil farm (but fortunately for America, that is!). Things that make you go hmm...

Can you cover the Ukrainian drone attack Chris and share historical parallels? Thanks. ๐Ÿ™

One of the things I noticed with Grad Students ,Amateur Historians as well as Professional Historians is the "Got You" mentality. " I am right, you are not " . I think history would be better served by not trying to prove why others are wrong but by supporting why one 's history is more an accurate assessment of the available facts . History in particular changes as we know more facts. Yes the Got you guys will always be annoying but that's life. Thank you. I did enjoy this discussion.
