"I have been writing for sixteen hours."
...okay. I took a couple of breaks. I went outside twice. Ate once. Coughed a lot. But I didn't sleep, because I couldn't stop. I've been trying to reach this chapter for a long time and when I was finally in the middle of it -- I had to reach the end. No matter what.
...I am so tired.
And then it wound up as two chapters.
Now, for Patreon pledge purchases, I am counting this as one charge. Why? Story structure. It could have been one chapter -- but I would have needed to interspace certain scenes with the main ones, and it felt like they were going to be interruptions. So I put that group off on its own, at 3400 words. And then everything else came in at nearly 12,500.
But with the smaller chapter under the pledge limit, as a result of story structure -- I didn't feel right posting this as a pair of pledge charges. So it's going up as one. If anyone happens to disagree with my logic and feels I'm ripping myself off, you know where the Ko-Fi jar is.
(There will be a major announcement on June 1st regarding the Ko-Fi jar.)
A sixteen-hour session, including breaks. And yes, that was a mistake and yes, I will be feeling that one later -- especially with one more chapter to post on Tuesday, before May runs out. But at least that one should be shorter.
This story has entered its final phase.
