Early Access - American Bomber Offensive: How the Luftwaffe Reacted

In 1942 the US Army Air Force flew their first missions against Germany.  Join me as I look at how the Luftwaffe adjusted to this new threat and address a few myths associated with this time frame.

Big thank you to all of you that make these archive trips possible!

Best,

Early Access - American Bomber Offensive: How the Luftwaffe Reacted

Comments

My comments are for both sides there was a learning curve, having to source and train pilots and aircrews, getting aviation infrastructure settled. With no data to back me up, 1942 was the learning curve. Once both sides were able to figure things out, this air war became very costly. Did not know so many 88 rounds had to be fired to bring down an aircraft. Plus, Germany was really stretched thin, having to cover so many fronts. Nice reporting Chris, looking forward to the next one. Another comment, having been to airshows and climbing in these WW II bombers really gives a person a perspective on what terror really is.
