If the British had not opted to put so much effort into perfecting the sleeve valves how would that have possibly affected other engine developments and eventual deployment?

Outside of military aviation history circles what sort of praise or opinions has the book received?

There's the mechanical/layout stuff: In at least two places, a page break either caused material to be omitted, or caused it to be repeated. (I recall at least one of each.) There are a number of terms that are used without ever being defined. Some can be inferred from context, but others require more specialized knowledge than many people have. It could be that the actual target audience would know, and that I am not part of that group? There are also several places where a paragraph starts off in one direction, makes an assertion, then changes direction in the middle to something only partly related, and does not support the assertion. Those last two points are quite arguable, and may simply be due to the author's writing style. The first is not, and is presumably something that can be fixed more easily.

Hey Robert, this may be a question I handle myself in another video :)

Military Aviation History

Hey Dave, could you let me know some aspects you believe need to be revised? Otherwise this is not really a question and a statement than I need to qualify as it can be perceived quite negatively without some detail

Military Aviation History

Are there plans for a new edition? There are a few places in the current one that could really use some revision.

Q&A: How effective would 1945-46 air defenses have been against the heavy bombers of UK/US if Operation Unthinkable happened, I ask because it seems most of the Soviet experience would have been against the more tactical bombing of Luftwaffe at low to medium altitude using light or medium bombers?

Robert Henry Illston

If Rolls-Royce had paid more attention to fuel injection in the beginning, they would have had to not work on other aspects; the opportunity cost. What other aspects would you have set aside, and would they have been worthwhile tradeoffs in hindsight?
