Have your say on the next videos

Hey,

I am currently planning out my videos for the last months of 2021 and wanted to put the question to you: what videos would you prefer to see? I plan to make all of these videos but this will help me judge the relevancy and interests you have, and might influence how soon they come out. Of course please feel free to add comments to this as well.

Attached is a poll with the following options (you can vote for multiple options but in the interest of creating a focus point, it would be great if you only vote for your two most favorite options).

Option 1: Video on the A-10s Reputation vs Actual Performance
Option 2: Strategic Air Command - How The US built & maintained a fleet of Nuclear Strike bombers
Option 3: Fw 200: Scourge of the Atlantic or Waste of Time?
Option 4: Japanese Aerial Anti-Submarine Warfare during WW2
Option 5: Inside The Cockpit (Various aircraft)

Thank you for the support
Chris

Seriously, I have enjoyed all of the content, even things that were outside my perceived core interest have been eye opening and I am better informed for seeing them. I firmly believe that you should produce the content that you want and not be influenced by polling what the audience wants to see. Make the programs you are passionate about, no matter how potentially popular, and I think we’ll stick with you because of how well researched and presented they are. If you build it, they will come

I like the idea that you have several topics I've not seen well covered before (fw200, Jap ASW, A10 reality).

FW-200 restoration project: https://fw200-restaurierung-bremen.de/2021/06/17/summary/

I’ve got a new one for your Q&A.: ………….. regarding the German solution on how to attack the ‘flying fortress’.:…………………….. https://www.flickr.com/photos/doneastwest/51415783751/in/datetaken-public/ ……………. Attack from the front. ……….. the escort aside, that left the guns at the nose to counter the frontal attack. ….. QUESTION.:…………. Could the dorsal guns be sufficiently lowered to aid in the fire against a frontal attack, or is it only the nose guns that could come into play.? ……………( this brings to mind the attack by Thomas Cochrane in the ‘Speedy’, which took advantage of its small size to attack the El Gamo.: the guns of the big ship could not be lowered sufficiently to to fire upon the smaller ship, but the Speedy could fire up through the decks of the Gamo. ) ………… Could the dorsal guns of a B-17 fire upon a frontal attack.?

Thanks Joe

There still are some Fw 190, WIP to get access to one

Military Aviation History

That's the plan, thanks for the feedback :)

Sadly there doesn't seem to be much information on Japanese ASW in the English language, but this sounds most likely like an ad hoc attack, thankfully your dad saw it coming in time! The most intense patrols were among the main IJN convoy routes.

Military Aviation History

The Stratojet! That will be a huge project, good luck :)

Military Aviation History

Cheers Dan, thanks for voting

Military Aviation History

I also love the inter war period, sadly it's not very popular but it can be done if the formula is right, I think the Buffalo video is proof of that

Military Aviation History

I plan to make all of these but it is good to know priorities and interest :)

Military Aviation History

Thanks Robert! Good to know

Military Aviation History

Thanks John :)

Military Aviation History

great idea! Hope it carries on, if yes you could maybe take the other/other two top voted themes in the next vote.

Reichsbierminister

Love the Inside cockpit videos, I also like the aircraft of the 1950s-60s when nearly everything coming off the design board was as much experimental as applying lessons learned.

Robert Henry Illston

Good one. ;)

Hans Peter Bak

How about…. Inside the SAC-pit? 😁 i mean… cockpit is just a term for defining a central location that controlls all activities if you put it veeeeeeeeeeeeeery broadly with one eye closed ;-)

ITC are indeed slow burners to create in my mind, but even with one a quarter, those are always the highpoint for me in terms of content. But people tend to not get that videos need tine to create, especially if you need to travel irl. Anyhow, my vote always goes to itc even if its just to tell him that i aprechiate every video in that series above all others, and it diesnt matter if its 10 a year or one a quarter… or even less, they will always be on the top of my list :-)

Axonteer

ITC are indeed the best content he puts out. I dont mind if those are infrequent, because they take tine to create, i simply prefer those types of videos the most.

Axonteer

Doesnt matter uncle joe, he asked what i would like to see preferably out of the options, and thus i answered, i cant recall saying „i want complex videos that take a month to produce on a weekly basis“ , he asked what we/i prefer and i answered. And i dont really mind less content if it takes longer to make said content and thus is posted less frequent. Heck even when he makes only one ITC video a year while doing other stuff, i still prefer that type of video the most.

Axonteer

Yes, but as it's time intensive for Chris, it would be good to stretch that fuselage - make it a Dash 1000 not a 600 - in terms of content.

Uncle Joe (Brian)

Yes but they could be extended with a lot more background, uses, complaints, variants, that sort of value adding & extending stuff, as Chris goes around & Inside. Chris puts in a lot of hours with these so it would be great if he could get more episodes out of them. Check out Greg's Aviation for an idea of what I mean.

Uncle Joe (Brian)

More Hurricane. There are enough variants & variations to make a series. It's definitely a gap.

Uncle Joe (Brian)

Perhaps these should be sort of spun off into a mini-brand like Inside The Cockpit. [note to self, SHIFT/ENTER] As I said to Sean: More Hurricane. There are enough variants & variations to make a series. It's definitely a gap.

Uncle Joe (Brian)

I don't know if any exist, but how about an inside the cockpit of an FW-190? Failing that, perhaps one of the more common torpedo bombers of WWII, or a Spitfire or Hurricane?

Sean Tyson

Inside the cockpit, no other option is valid 🤩

Axonteer

I voted SAC, but I still want to see as many Inside the Cockpits as you can handle!

Dad told me that he was on the conning tower of the Skipjack ( SS184 ), when a zero (presumably a zero ) dived out of the sun and he dashed down the hatch …… i look back, surprised that they were on the surface in daylight, but they dove in time, i guess. ……. I am curious to know how the Japanese divided their search time between day and night, and how they searched at night.

I want to see the A10 but SAC holds a special place in my heart my father served in it for 3 years before going to Vietnam

Mark D Booth

The reason I voted for SAC is because seeing that episode might motivate me to finally start my B-47 plastic model that I bought years ago.

They are good, but I love the “Hog” and the anti-sub ops by the IJN.

I vote for WWII topics, but that is just my personal fixation! Would love to hear you more on pre-world war II topics that later on influenced the conflict

Miguel Aldaz

A-10, the gun that comes with a plane 😏😏

Nick Bayer

Do I have to choose?

I like them all but if i had to pick, I'll take Inside the Cockpit of any old plane over everything else. As a second choice, I'll go with the controversial Condor. Japanese ASW operations is cool too.

Robert Santamaria

A10 would be cool Chris. But man, I’d watch anything you or Bernard do. I learn something every time..

John aitken

Is it odd to think of the Inside The Cockpit's as filler for the other episodes? That's where I put them. I'll admit that they are the ones that I click on the quickest. It's just my opinion that they feel like they should be sprinkled in between the others. I am really looking forward to the SAC one though. To come out of nowhere and become the powerhouse it was and then to be sidelined just as quickly.
