Upcoming content: Japanese Bf 109, ASW and The Flight to Nowhere

Hey there,

It's the month of May, so high time for another update. End of April was a hectic time. I had a quick business trip over to Austria, which was quite a journey under the current measures. There, Bernhard from MHV and I were finally able to send out all signed copies of the book we crowdfunded last year - I believe some of you got yourself a copy. If so, please do let us know what you thought about it!

The trip also meant that I had to stay ten days in mandatory quarantine upon my return, from which I was released this week. Thankfully, I tested negative throughout and all is well. Those ten days were put to good use though and as such, let me lift the veil on the upcoming content (As always, the dates are subject to change).

The Flight to Nowhere - 13th May.
This video will shed light on the disastrous intervention (or should I say, non-intervention) of USS Hornet during the Battle of Midway. Of its complete strike package of VS, VB and VT aircraft, only VT-8 made contact with the Japanese fleet - and paid the price. What had happened, how come the Dauntlesses of Hornet never got to take their shot at Kaga, Agaki and co? This video will shed some light on that, with some fantastic visuals provided by Task Force Admiral.

Japanese Opinion on the Bf-109 - 20th May
In July 1941, the Japanese Army Air Service conducted a series of simulated dogfights vs a German Bf 109. Viewer and supporter QAZ was kind enough to translate a lot of Japanese information on this event and as such, I'll be able to tell you exactly what the Japanese thought of the Bf 109...and their own planes.

Luftwaffe Anti-Submarine Warfare - 27th May
Another find from the German Military Archive. I bring you an indepth look at a Luftwaffe instructional pamphlet, explaining to pilots how to engage submarines and protect convoys. Germany might not be popularily known to be at the receiving end of Allied submarines - the Kriegsmarine's U-Boots have their own reputation of course - but that is exactly why I think this would be so interesting. Besides, as an example, in the Mediterranean the Germans did have their fair few troubles with Allied subs.

Additional videos in the works

I hope you will enjoy all these new releases, stay tuned for more and thank your for you support!

Chris

Comments

That is an awesome upcoming list. Hopefully the tide turns on covid and things ease up. Right now here in the US I can go almost anywhere as long as I test negative...coming back runs into that 10 day rule pretty much anywhere but Mexico. No offense to Mexico but I prefer travel to Europe, Asia and Australia.
