UPDATED - Early Access: April 2021

UPDATE: Added links to Inside The Cockpit - F-104G Starfighter and Why Germany doesn't buy the F-35.

Hey,

What is that you say, it's the second week of April? Blimey, you are right. Well, in that case, allow me to share with you the first Early Access link(s) for this month. If you read the previous update, you know what's coming up but if not, have a read and then, feel free to enjoy the first video linked above or by clicking on the title. This thread will be updated to include upcoming videos with a message getting send out when that happens!

P-39 Airacobra: Good or a Piece of Junk? - 8. April
In  this video, Justin and I will chat about the P-39 Airacobra. I really  like this plane but it's reputation (outside of the Soviet Union) wasn't  the best. Justin and I talk about some of the reasons why that was the  case, talk about the context of its use in the South Pacific and  hopefully give you fun video about a plane that has some neat history  behind it. Special feature of this video: Fantastic pictures taken of a  restored P-39 by viewer and fellow Patreon supporter Errol!

Inside The Cockpit: F-104 Starfighter - 15. April
You  know the drill, it's inside the cockpit! This time featuring the F-104  Starfighter - a favorite of many. Coming at you at supersonic speed,  this sleek century series jet was filmed at the Flugwerft Schleissheim.  The museum is especially proud of this exhibit and during the filming,  they gave me unrivaled access to this machine.

Why Germany doesn't buy the F-35 - 29. April
If  you've been watching some of the videos I made on the Tornado  successor, you might have wondered why Germany doesn't plan to  substitute their Tornado IDS and ECR fleet with this new '5th Gen'  platform. Well, I am not sure if I can give you a straight up answer -  it is Germany after all - but I will certainly try!

Looking forward to your comments, and wishing you a fantastic April!
Chris

Looking forward to the continuing saga on Germany’s fleet

Many thanks - always fascinated by the P39 P63 although unfortunately I saw the fatal crash of a P63 at Biggin Hill airshow in 2001. Great insights from you both Paul

Hi Chris, I don't know if you got all my comment. I hit "Enter" by mistake and posted it before I'd finished. I'd meant to use the "Shift-Enter" to add a break instead.

Hey Juilian, The video is currently reuploading and the audio should be fixed :)

Military Aviation History

A couple of quick pointers. During you crediting Errol for the pictures right at the start of the video, your voice is much quieter for the duration of your thanks. The sound then returns to the same level. During the graphic for the time to climb to 15,000 ft, the graphic for the P39 says 7.2mins, but your VO says 7.4mins. For the P40, the graphic says 7.2 and 9.5 mins, but your VO says 9.2 and 10.8mins respectively. Just so you are aware.
