Upcoming content: P-39, F-104 and F-35

Hey all,

Is it April already? Well, it does seem so from all the April Fool's pranks I've been seeing today. Time then for another update on the upcoming content.

P-39 Airacobra: Good or a Piece of Junk? - 8. April
In this video, Justin and I will chat about the P-39 Airacobra. I really like this plane but it's reputation (outside of the Soviet Union) wasn't the best. Justin and I talk about some of the reasons why that was the case, talk about the context of its use in the South Pacific and hopefully give you fun video about a plane that has some neat history behind it. Special feature of this video: Fantastic pictures taken of a restored P-39 by viewer and fellow Patreon supporter Errol!

Inside The Cockpit: F-104 Starfighter - 15. April
You know the drill, it's inside the cockpit! This time featuring the F-104 Starfighter - a favorite of many. Coming at you at supersonic speed, this sleek century series jet was filmed at the Flugwerft Schleissheim. The museum is especially proud of this exhibit and during the filming, they gave me unrivaled access to this machine. Above you can find a small sneakpeak (early cut).

Why Germany doesn't buy the F-35 - 29. April
If you've been watching some of the videos I made on the Tornado successor, you might have wondered why Germany doesn't plan to substitute their Tornado IDS and ECR fleet with this new '5th Gen' platform. Well, I am not sure if I can give you a straight up answer - it is Germany after all - but I will certainly try!

That rounds up the current video plans, looking forward to sharing it with you all!

Thank you for the support,
Chris

I agree that it is time for Germany to pay for their self defense. We should not have any American military stationed there anymore. Poland was willing to pay for US military bases and they border Russia. The Baltic states also need our help with defense. The F35 might not be the right plane for Germany. The new administration has agreed to increase US military presence in Germany. Politics...

Thanks again Errol, I'll be linking your album in the video :) Fantastic pictures!

Military Aviation History

The F104 story is a complex one. It was quite different as a plane to what many pilots were used to and some of the early design choices did not help. I hope to make a follow up to the ITC episode going into this

Military Aviation History

F104 has always intrigued me, so futuristic for the time, but what happened to it? I recall a saying... ‘anybody want to buy a Starfighter..... buy a plot of ground and wait’ Were they really unreliable?

Glad that you found my P-39 photos helpful! The same restorer will start work on a Dauntless soon, so you might get lucky with that in a year or two.

I am SO looking forward to the segment on the F-104.
