Exclusive Video and Sneakpeaks

Hey all,

First off, above you will find my chat with Bernhard from MHV where we tackle one of the questions submitted by you here. This is a Patreon exclusive video. If you enjoy these, please let us know.

The following is a rundown of the upcoming content this month:

.50cal vs Cannons - Which one is better? 11th March

Has been in early access for a while but now it will finally be released. The discussion what weapon was better for fighter aircraft,  .50cal or 20mm cannons is one that keeps being debated, vigorously at times. In this video, I talk about this topic and argue that this  comparison makes little sense.

9 Years of Debate -  Why Germany Still has No Armed Drones. 18th March
Germany has been debating whether to get armed drones for nearly a decade. Constant political shifts with a never-ending debate have resulted in a drawn out process that was recently torpedoed once more. I sit down with Dr. Ulrike Franke, Drone Expert and Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council of Foreign Relations to discuss what is going on in Germany. In Early Access tomorrow (10/03)

German Tank Busting - 1942. 25th March
More primary sources! I bring you a 'visualization' of a German firing trial with the MK 101, a 30mm cannon used by Germany in an early tank busting role. It will feature a detailed breakdown of firing tests vs. a T34, KV 1 and KV 2, an overview of early use of the weapon and some German lessons with a special tongue twister: 3 Zentimeter Hochgeschwindigkeit-Panzergranatpatrone Leuchtspur ohne Zerleger. Try reading that aloud ;)

This video is sponsored by War Thunder, as such I have to wait until the sign of to share it in Early Access.

Looking forward to your comments and feedback on all these videos !

Thank you for the support,
Chris

Political insight and appreciation was a subject that some WW2 U.S. Senior officers ( who were involved in post war preparations and grand strategy ) said they were not as " wiley" as the British.. This was probably exacerbated by Roosevelt's ill health and it seems affected his addressing this subject. The British officers were better trained in this subject. Read .. actually a must read to really understand the Allies.... well the U.S. and Britain anyway . ..Marching Orders by Bruce Lee.

In the 70s my African History teacher took a lot of grief . Other teachers thought there was nothing to study.. so why do it. ? So I think there will always be that time when the " new" subject will have endure.

Ahhh you answered my question, thanks! (or really, sorry for opening what could theoretically be an endless discussion :P )

I'm very glad you choose this topic. It's a vast and difficult topic, but you both covered it thoroughly and provided very interesting insights into the field. This alone is really worth an entire year of Patreon support.

Great chat thanks both. I also wonder about the average age of those studying Military History. I am starting a Masters here in the UK this year and believe that many of those doing the course are like me older people returning to study where it is not linked to their career aspirations. I believe the growing interest in the public history is already driving this and I wonder if increasingly the humanities faculties will be supported in universities this way (I hope so!) - Paul C
