Hey all,
Here is a sneakpeak of the next Inside The Cockpit, a Cold War jet. This Mirage III was filmed in Payerne, Switzerland at Clin d'Ailes (Once travel resumes, and you find yourself in Switzerland, consider visiting this museum - it's well worth it). In this sneakpeak, you'll get to see some early footage and the introduction of the video.
All the best, thank you for the support and have a smashing start into 2021!
Chris
One of my favorite..okay probably my favorite jet fighter of that era. Beautiful and extremely effective in a variety of roles.

What a delectable appetizer for the video to come. I am sure the finished video will be another well-researched and articulated video on the French recovery after WWII! Thanks!

Hi, Chris,
I've never forgotten reading of how Israel built their critical 1960s air force around the Mirage 3. They couldn't afford the most expensive, but they could also no afford not to get the best.

Thankyou Chris...I enjoy the context of this one..be interesting to learn more of relative position of l’armee d’aore vs navy, and army wrt government support, popular enthusiasm. Was one branch favoured

It is indeed a gunpod! The space could also be used for a spare fuel tank

Can you tell us what the system sitting underneath the Mirage in the latter part of the video is? There are two long sticks poking forward out of the sides of it.
Is it a conformal gun pod, perhaps?
