Hey all,
Hope all of you are well. As posted in the last update, there are quite a few videos coming up in December and January that I can't wait to release. Today, I want to introduce you to this weeks episode, also already available here.
The B-17 is of course an iconic bomber from WW2 that has achieved near mythical status during and after the war. When confronted with these bombers, the Luftwaffe was presented with a challenge as, when flying in formation, the B-17s were able to not only absorb quite some punishment but also put out quite some firepower.
In the video, I introduce a 1943 summary from German fighter squadrons (JG 1, JG 11, JG 26, JG 27) on their combat experience against USAAF bombers. I found this file in the German Military Archives and knew from the moment I read it that I wanted to make a video about it. I find it to be quite an interesting topic as it is one often talked about but rarely with a look at the actual files. Naturally, the experiences against B-17s might differ throughout time and space (during the war), but with this report we can have an introduction into some of the tactics employed by the Germans against bombers.
Above you will find some screenshots from the video which is, this time, sponsored by War Thunder.
Thank you again for supporting, looking forward to your comments!
