Early Access - Inside The Cockpit: M.S. 406

Hey all,

With the next Inside The Cockpit I return to WW2 with the Morane-Saulnier M.S.406

Sadly, a few months after filming, the pilot - Daniel Koblet - died suddenly. This video is dedicated to him.

Early Access - Inside The Cockpit: M.S. 406

Comments

Hi, Bis, This is a really beautiful, thoughtful tribute, both to an aircraft, a company that did the best it could in difficult circumstances, an air force that fought an uphill battle, and the pilot who created the flight video portions. Thank you. :)

Great video as always, Bis. I didn't know that this aircraft also served with the Finnish Air Force. That would be an interesting video topic in itself (maybe an overview of the FInnish Air Force in general - they had quite a mix of different aircraft). I wonder, did the Finns receive their aircraft prior to the fall of France? I'm asking, because the M.S. 406 is not the only French fighter to serve on both sides of the conflict. Bulgaria bought some Dewoitine D.520s (ex-French AF aircraft) from Germany, which were used in the defence of the country from USAAF bombings during operation Tidal Wave.

No worries, it's always better someone points it out than that I miss it :)

Thanks for a great video. I remember building the Heller kit of this aircraft when i was growing up.

You're welcome. I felt very guilty, pointing out the issues, as I know it takes time and effort to put these videos out, but you do such good work I didn't wish to not say anything and have you release it. Fortunately you had already noticed :-)

Hey Julian, I've noticed this after the upload. A new version is rendering, thanks for letting me know though!

Hi Bis, Not wanting to be "that guy", but you seen to have a fault/problem with the sound on this video. It might just be me, but there is some sort of echo, (or even some kind of interference) as if you are talking down a tunnel. Not sure if it's due to the original audio, or a fault in processing, but thought you should know there might be an issue. o7 Edit. It seems to stop at around the 2:22 mark but starts again at the 3:18 and stop again at 4:18 and starts again at 12:53, stopping at 13:50 . It seems to start and stop at edits in your commentary, which might suggest a processing fault, though I am no sound engineer. There is also some sort of interference at 2:30 and 6:28-7:48. There are also a couple of edits which have clipped off your commentary, particularly during the "in the cockpit" segment when you are talking about the ammo counter at 16:24. Just thought a "heads-up" before you release this to the general YouTube community.
