Heinkel He111 Walkaround

Here is your early access to this week's release (09/01/2020), a quick video on differentiating the German and Spanish Heinkel He-111. There are many differences, some small, some major and others in the interior. Although they look similar, you can already tell them apart from the outside however.

2020-01-21 21:49:41 +0000 UTCHappy New Year to you too! Spain did indeed keep themselves locked on the Jumo engine, esp since France supplied them with a few spare ones. But long term, this was not possible and they new it. I still have to find some sources showing what the Spanish thought of the Merlin but it did keep their Heinkel fleet in the air for a bit longer!

I guess I had incorrectly assumed the allies were adding a bit of insult to injury by shunning the original engine for the Merlin. Still I wonder if there is some truth to that or if manufacturing would have been impossible even if desirable. Anyway, Happy New Year, Bis!
