Early Access - Luftwaffe on the Eastern Front

Hey all,
Here is your early access to the next video, detailing an internal discussion of the Luftwaffe on their 1941/42 Winter operations on the Eastern Front. While many discussions revolve around clothing, sortie numbers and victory claims, the actual hurdles and challenges the Luftwaffe had to overcome to actually get their planes in the sky is often overlooked. Hopefully this video will give a good insight into such themes.
Also, this video is currently running limited ads after being hit by YouTube on upload. Again, thank you for supporting via Patreon as this softens the blow considerably if the video stays 'yellow'.

I just read the comments and it looks like some Canadian pilots hit the main points. You've got a savvy group of followers. I'll stay here in the relative anonymity of Patreon. This got me thinking about how prevalent the use of skis on aircraft were on the Eastern Front. I've seen pictures of most main variants of Russian/German aircraft with skis, but was it very common to use skis? That might be a good follow up video to this one.

Hey Brett, glad you liked it. If you want, could you leave a comment on the video explaining some of the challenges for you in Alaska? Might be interesting for the viewers.

Hey Julian, thanks for the tips. The plan is to make the audio better, in just that way. I need to get another carpet and some more foam, the placement right now still isn't ideal.

An excellent, informative and thought provoking video. I'd never really considered how hard it would have been to operate aircraft on the Eastern Front, even though I'd heard about how hard it was for things like the Russian convoys. A small piece of constructive criticism (I hope). Your new studio is great, but you could use some form of sound deadening, as there is quite a lot of echo when you talk. Carpet or mats on the floor (if you have a bare wood floor), soft furnishings behind the camera, even tapestries on the wall could all help with making your audio clearer, if you don't wish to go the "studio eggcrate" route. Just a thought.

The more I learn the less I understand. Why would any nation, at any time in history, engage all of Russia in an all out, pre 21st century war. Yes, hindsight is 20/20. But somebody in Germany (and France before Germany) did not get the math right from the start.
