Big news: Studio incoming

Hey all,

I have some big news lined up. I will be moving to a new flat with a spare room that I can now design into a studio, with proper lighting, acoustics and a background that gives me more options. The lack of such a space has been a real break on my work, as previously I either had to film in my living room or bedroom - with the corresponding equipment such as lighting, camera placement and mics essentially blocking the whole room for the duration of the shoot. Since I don't live alone, this has been a very sub-optimal arrangement and I've spoken on this before.

I'll be honest, your support on Patreon has carried the day for years and continuous to do so. It allowed me to work with a steady income that pays the bills, beyond the rollercoaster that is YouTube which would not be sustainable. For some time, I've had a stretch goal on Patreon that foresaw me moving once I reached it. It was a very safe goal, probably set higher than needed, and was reflective of my mentality of doing things safe and slow. We haven't reached that goal and the new place is still a financial risk, but things are picking up for the channel to the point were certain things - like the lack of a studio space - become a real handicap. I've crunched the numbers and I estimate it all to go well, considering that the new space offers me a lot more flexibility and a set studio, taking away the randomness of my shoots that I was subjected to before.

The move date is set in early July and I'll keep you up to date when it happens. Since I have nearly completed the Albatros and RE8 videos, beyond next weeks release, there should be a continuation of content throughout this time.

Thank you again for your support - the channel would not exist without it.

Any questions or concerns? Let me know down below.

P.S. While I wanted to publish the last Q&A this week, I want to re-shoot it. Going over it again, I noticed some of my answers weren't as good as I could make them, probably because I filmed it at the end of a long filming day in York for the C-47. Maybe something to inaugurate my new studio!?

Hi, Bis, Things are much, much less tight for me, financially, so I just joined the $5 tier. Happy to help.
