Added 2019-05-11 19:37:32 +0000 UTC
Hey all,
Today I filmed at the Yorkshire Air Museum, taking a look at the Douglas C-47 Skytrain, or Dakota if you are Commonwealth.
Filming all the outside shots, we sadly had to take a break due to sudden showers. Tomorrow we will continue with the interior shots!
Thanks a lot for your support, you make these episodes possible!

In 1943, legendary Hollywood director William Wyler crafted MEMPHIS BELLE, a celebrated tribute to the titular WWII bomber. There is a movie having a one day release which you might find interesting. Using footage shot by Wyler from the National Archives that was use to produce the Memphis Belle during WW2, director Erik Nelson has made a new film, featuring gripping narration from some of the last surviving B-17 pilots. A meditation on youth, war and stunning bravery.

Still can't believe I missed this when I was in Yorkshire last year. Ah well - just another excuse to buy a ticket from Australia to get back there I guess.

He was a pilot and flew both C-47s and C-46s. Unfortunately, I just noticed that the only pictures I have of him is with C-46s.

Great, was he a crew member? If you want and agree, I'd be happy to show the pictures in the video if you have any with him and the plane.

I am really looking forward to seeing this. The C-47was the plane my father spent most of his time in during WW2. I have a few old photos of him in the C-47.
