Curious about how Lysander pilots navigated at night for agent dropoff & pickup missions. Sounds virtually impossible without radio frequency navigation (maybe they used that?) Fly by moonlight?

2019-05-06 17:38:41 +0000 UTCSo I know Luftwaffe intelligence wasn't the best but how much of the Dowding system did they figure out and what steps did they take to counter it?

2019-05-06 08:46:51 +0000 UTCI have a few: 1. how was organized air defence of an American aircraft carrier and how the Japanese imperial navy? 2. Where torpedo bombers obsolete later in the war and when? 3. Which aeroplane was the best in your opinion in the role of deck-based bomber, torpedo bomber and fighter in the years 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944 and 1945? 4. Is a land-based plane better the deck-based one and why?

2019-05-05 16:33:11 +0000 UTCIf you just consider the airplanes in one on one dogfights (ie not considering availability and production numbers), which late '44-45 fighter would you rank as the best? Feel free to choose for low/mid/high alt if one model doesn't cover all three.
