BtC 4.1 - Armour Tests Found in Archive

Hey all,

It's been a busy two weeks. Work progresses on the TBD-1 release and the German jet video but the next release scheduled for next week Thursday (17/01) will be a podcast I recorded with Justin P. You can find an extract of this video above as an exclusive teaser for your support here on Patreon! The final cut will include additonal video footage and pictures.

(Please excuse my cracking voice, I was still recovering from a cold at this point)

Justin and me often communicate on all matters related to the Pacific theatre of operations of WW2. He has published on the IJN and IJA and a recent piece (under review) he wrote actually discusses some of the themes he will relate to in this video.

The primary aim of this chat was to provide an introduction into some of the developments on aircraft protection systems between 1916-1945. We chatted for nearly 1h30 (and only scratched the surface) but for the purposes of the release I have edited the video down to under an hour. Still it will be a long release and I have a feeling not everyone will stick aorund till the end, but that's alright. What I like about this chat is that we managed to talk in very general terms (it's an introduction after all) but still incorporate some more specific information from Justins research and my own trips to archives (again, refer to the above video to see one oexample).

Projects like this also allow me to practice talking about aviation issues in a free-flow manner, a skill I want to further develop and improve on. I belief I could have done a better during this project but nevertheless, I am happy with the end result.

As always, let me know your thoughts!

I have more time to fill than do most people, so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to listen to the whole thing, when you post it. Looking forward to it.
