Have YOUR say!
Added 2018-12-06 21:05:36 +0000 UTCHey all, I have two things for you today.
THE POLL
Please vote for your preference in the poll! [Below]
I want to 'brand' my museum series. Right now, there is little standardization between the videos I made on the Fieseler, Halifax, Avenger etc. when it comes to the title. This needs to change and over the past months I've been brainstorming a few titles by myself and some of your over on Discord.
The title needs to be:
- Aviation related
- Intuitive (i.e. make sense to people)
- Clear (i.e. not be a long & clumsy)
Important: These choices are not binding. I might redo them completely. It's simply important to perhaps see if a natural preference amongst the audience exists.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Please vote for your preference in the poll! If you want, please also comment giving your choice and your reasons for it.

PRODUCTION UPDATE
The video (Swiss Air Force) will be released next week. Today, I completed all parts up until the conclusion and one additional animation I realized I needed today. After that, I will add pictures and a few call-out cards, level the audio and add complimentary visuals (simulator footage etc). If I think it necessary, I will reshoot one of the early scenes as I am still on the fence regarding that one.
I've really been enjoying the learning process. Mistakes were made early on but by now I have a much better understanding of lighting, audio and my camera. I really feel like I am starting to get the most out of my equipment. While this project went on for way longer than expected, I know that this time was not wasted. Indeed, if the present formula works out, I already have a list of additional improvements I hope to implement with the next one. But more on that next time!
As always, thank you very much for your support and have a good one!

Hey Bill, thanks for the input - it's very helpful. I think the 'lack of a gunsight' won't be much of a problem, as it could be a 'gag' of sorts for those planes that lack one. But I get the issue of course. I am somewhat wondering whether the word 'Warbird' is understandable to most however. I know many Europeans who don't know it. Heh, hard choices

2018-12-09 21:14:30 +0000 UTCAlarmstart confused me, too, and I think it applies more to interceptors, not so much to the intercepted (bombers, recon), and cargo planes tended to avoid being anywhere near enemy fighters (e.g. C-47s flying "over the hump" into China, from west of the Japanese). Fast, Armed, Dangerous ... makdes the Fiesler Storch sad. Behind the gunsight also strikes me as focusing too narrowly on fighters, because though bomers had machine guns, that wasn't their main reason for being. AQnd P-47s dropped a lot of bombs. Also, Storch is sad. So that leaves Warbird Tales as the one fully inclusive title. It comes across as a bit generic, but it is easy to understand. It's a title that will bring in people who don't already know a lot about war aircraft.

2018-12-07 14:45:25 +0000 UTC"Behind the Gunsight" - when I hear this I get the sensation that I'll be getting up close and personal with the aircraft, and this leads to anticipation. That's the main reason why I like it. Furthermore, I also think it is more original and different - "Warbird Tales" sounds a bit generic to me.

2018-12-06 22:48:39 +0000 UTC"Alarmstart" doesn't mean anything to me. Perhaps it is an idiom from another language? It sounds like it would mean something like "scramble", as in "get your aircraft into the air NOW". ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrambling_(military) ) As an aside, "Scramble!" might at first seem a decent alternative, but it is somewhat of an overloaded term. "Fast. Armed. Dangerous." sounds like it refers to some fugitive, not to an aircraft. "Warbird Tales" has promise, though it sounds like it would be for either fiction or personal accounts rather than museum visits. I chose "Behind the Gunsight", as it seems to fit the theme best to me.

2018-12-06 21:55:50 +0000 UTCI think warbird tales could be the title of another series where you talk about first person accounts from various wars

2018-12-06 21:55:31 +0000 UTCI chose "Behind The Gunsight" because I think it works. I don't think "Warbird Tales" works 100%, but I feel like it is just a smidge away from brilliant. Unfortunately I don't know what smidge would make it brilliant.
