Exclusive: Hurricane Flyby

Hey all,

Here is some exclusive footage for all of you, filmed at the Yorkshire Air Museum. It's a flyby by a Hurricane that made a brief but memorable appearance over the old Bomber airfield at Elvington.

In the future, I might be using this short extract in a video - but for now, it's for your viewing pleasure only!

Thank you very much for the support that allows me to go to such events and film content for all of you!

Was all the camera, certainly not the operator (me) :)

And If I recall correctly, RAF ace Douglas Bader did pretty well in a Hurricane. He could turn tighter, with no lower legs in which his blood would otherwise pool.

That's a fighter pilot: buzzes the bomber base, to show off how fast and maneuverable his aircraft is. Thanks for capturing this, Bis. Good camera work, with only a brief second or two of focusing, to remind us how hard it is.

Did that third pass make you feel a bit like a ground-pounder waiting for those cannons to open up on strafing run? Something about that second-pass reversal and the screaming approach of the Merlin engine gave me a little shiver, as though my more primitive brain was warning 'here it comes, get down!' Just wondered if anyone else got that vibe...spooky!

Great stuff, thanks!
