Software update

Hey all,

Just a quick heads-up for the content of the coming weeks. I am  currently transitioning from Sony Vegas to Adobe Premiere & After  Effects. Sony Vegas was good so far but now I want to do stuff in my  videos where this software is simply reaching its limits/ is not good  enough. I've been thinking about making this transition for a while and by now, it is quite frankly overdue. This is especially true as I aim to change the presentation style of my videos.

For museum visits, floating, 3D and call-out texts are something I want to do. Sony Vegas 'can' do it but it looks rough and amateurish even when done well. After Effects should give an edge here.

For the usual videos, I want to transition away from being completely reliant on icons. It is a very clean presentation but also used by people like MHV. Initially I felt that the mixture of icons and gameplay was enough to differentiate my content but I no longer feel this way. It served us well thus far but it is time to create a proper style. I still don't know exactly how I will pull off what I want to pull off but hey, without experimentation nothing will ever change ;)

As such, content production might be slowed down for a bit as I ease myself into the use of these two new programs. I'll keep you all up-to-date.

"various 'call-out titles' that blend into the frame and track smoothly", I see, I see. Very nice indeed.

I would like to send you a pic of me looking old but happy in my Bismarck T shirt but I have no idea where to post it. Sometimes I see you in Der Sheriff's discord...........that's about it. I guess I could post it on your fb. Damn I wish you hadn't changed your name! My brain thinks of you as Bismarck, not Military Aviation History. Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.

Hey Barney, check my last post (First teaser of new style). You will see me using various 'call-out titles' that blend into the frame and track smoothly. With Sony Vegas, even if I would keyframe each individual frame, it would never look this clean. That is one of the main reasons for the switch.

Military Aviation History

That sounds like a good decision on your part. Good for you. I'd be interested in the kinds of "limits" you're talking about but I suppose I can just read about it. You don't need to be distracted from your 'great work'. Thank you Bismarck.
