Your Questions for THE TANK MUSEUM

Hey all,

I will be visiting The Tank Museum in the coming weeks. We will try to make a special video with David Willey, the museums curator. I will be asking him a few questions on my own but then wanted to hand it over to you guys.

So, this is your opportunity to ask him some quick fire questions. You can post them below.

Also depending on how many questions we get and how much time we have (my time there is limited, just the afternoon and we've got loads of stuff to go through), I might have to pick and choose. Sorry about that. I'll  pay attention to up-votes and what questions best fit the balance between their and my own channels theme.

All the best and Happy Easter!

Bis

P.S. If you can't think of something now, there is no rush. However, please hand in your questions by the end of the first week of April.

Your Questions for THE TANK MUSEUM

Comments

Good question, since the Tank Chats make it clear over and over that this was almost a British obsession in the interwar period. How did it work out?

It's often said that AFV's have to balance 3 factors, (mobility, Firepower, protection) what WWII AFV does he think struck the best balance between the 3.

How often were tanks out as mobility kills Vs actual kills

What is Mr Willey's view of the frequently expressed view that German AFV were over - engineered? No worries if you can't fit the question in. It was nice to see that you accompanied MHV on his visit! I hope you enjoyed that trip.

Was firing while moving ever an effective tactic during ww2?

Were armored/mobile anti-aircraft systems ever really effective before modern missles and are those effective? (They didn't help the Iraqis much in 1991.)

Jasper Welsch

Not a question, but a comment: having worked at the museum several years ago (in an extremely low ranking position to be sure), Bismarck, you're going to have an absolute blast. Enjoy! Yours jealously from down under.

What's most unique piece of personal memorabilia you've seen or found in a tank? (picture, enemy trophies, etc)
