Hey all,
Hope you are all doing well!
Kicking this off with a customer service announcement. Patreon made a slight change to their payouts. I only just received a mail today, so this is completely fresh for me too.
Until now, Creators received between 80-90% of your pledge, the rest went to Patreon or was part of transfer fees. This changes now to a guaranteed payout of 95% for the creator, in this case me. The remaining 5% are to cover any additional fees. Beyond that Patreon will introduce a standard charge of $0.35 + 2.9% on your pledge.
To sum up, Creators such as me will receive a better margin from the money you pledge but the price for you will increase slightly, roughly $0.03 per $1 pledged + $0.35.
To make it easy, if you pledge:
$2 you pay ~$2.06 + $0.35
$5 you pay ~$5.15 + $0.35
$10 you pay $10.29 + $0.35
Patreon will certainly send more information to you all. Yet, as all of you generously support me, I did want to inform you of this change as well.
The second quick update is on content creation. December is usually 'party time' for YouTubers as ad-rates are exceptionally high. No surprise that YTers tend to ramp up their production during this month. For December, I have two videos planned (some of you already saw a sneakpeak) on which I want to work until I think they are ready. Additionally, there might be a vlog type video in the mix (similar to my kill claim video). With the increasing support I get via Patreon, I am less and less reliant on YT's platform to make a living. As such, your support contributes to the quality of my videos as I have to stress less about 'pushing it out in time'. I am beholden to you, not YT. That is how it should be.
As most of you know, I sometimes stream on Twitch. Here, I try to play games that engage the audience beyond being a viewer, by integrating them into the game. Patreons and Twitch subscribers get preferential treatment. Our continous adventure in Bomber Crew is the perfect example. Brave were the Fallen, let us remember them.
When I go live on Twitch, I announce it on my Twitter or Facebook as well as the YouTube channel. This is why you might see the occasional 10 second video popping up that disappears after 3hours.
If you are an Ace supporter ($10 or more), please contact me via personal message to get your Discord access! We have a lively discussion on there and it will also give you access to Military History Visualized.
If you have any questions, concerns or feedback, you know where to reach me ;)
All the best,
Bis o7
